Carriage Bolt

Carriage bolts, also known as coach bolts, are distinctive fasteners featuring a smooth domed round head and a square shank section directly beneath the head. When driven into timber or pre-drilled square holes in steel, the square neck bites into the material and prevents the bolt from rotating during tightening — eliminating the need for a tool on the bolt side.
